Access Licenses {best for organizations of 800 employees or less}

An access license is valid for all participants, trainers and administrators of the account, and applies to both DVD Style and Interactive course content.

A single title license applies to one specified title.

A license pack applies to a user defined set of titles with a twist.  The end user not only selects the titles, but can change the titles in the group every 60 days.

Pricing has two components: an up-front fee plus on-going utilization charges (based on your actual usage).

The up-front fee depends upon the type of license, the price tier of the course, and the duration:

Note: 1 day and 7 day Access Licenses begin their term when first used; not when the purchase occurs. There is no penalty for an early purchase.

Enterprise Licenses {best for organizations of 800 employees or more}

Enterprises with the need to provide training to a thousand students or more can save money by purchasing an Enterprise License for any given title. License includes both DVD style and Interactive style (if available); plus, a no-charge Authoring Privilege license is provided.

The cost is $4,995 per course for the first one thousand students and just $3 per student thereafter, with a two year term. All discounted student fees must be purchased with the initial license; otherwise, the normal utilization charges for the course apply (up to $8 per student for an interactive course).

Utilization Charges

The utilization charges are loosely associated with the number of participants taking the course and depends on whether the course style is interactive style or DVD style.

Utilization charges vary from course to course; specific per student charges are displayed in the course's detail information page (see right sidebar). Generally, all utilization charges range from $1 to $8 per student. Full program utilization charges are higher than single chapters. Interactive course utilization charges are higher than DVD style courses.

Once a student starts the course, he/she has 14 days to complete; otherwise, an additional utilization is charged for any continued usage.

For example, for most Tier One interactive courses, the utilization fee is $8.00 per participant. For Tier One DVD style programs, the utilization fee is $5 per participant.

Classroom Usage

DVD style versions of all programs can be used in the classroom by a trainer or by a consultant. Access licenses are required and utilization charges apply. In all such cases, the classroom use must be reported with the number of attendees and programs used. Utilization billing will occur.

Discounted Utilization Packs

Discounted Utilization Packs are prepaid utilization credits.  The full value of the Utilization Pack will be applied to actual utilization charge billings.  The Utilization Packs are purchased at a discount in advance.  The following packs are available:

Authoring Privileges

This is an account wide privilege that can be purchased for use by trainers and administrators to incorporate full DVD styles videos and chapters into external authoring tools such as PowerPoint, Blackboard, and other tools. 

With such privileges, the trainer can copy links from ArcLearn and paste into an authoring tool; this is an excellent way to spice up a presentation with a learning chapter or two.  The specific title must be licensed and utilization fees apply. 

Authoring privileges also include an option for off line presentations, including training without Internet access.  In this case, the trainer can download play licenses and playlists in advance for use in a training session.  This works particularly well especially in conjunction with a Local Access Option (external hard drive disk of video attached to a laptop).

Cost for authoring privileges is $195 per account for 12 months.

Classroom use of DVD Style video is also subject to a utilization fee.  The fee varies depending upon the title from $1.00 for a short chapter to $5 for a full length program.  Once started, all classroom video usage has four hours to complete; otherwise, additional utilization charges will apply.

Local Access Option

The device is an external disk drive that can be used on a local network or attached to a specific PC.  All video is played locally instead of being streamed over the Internet.  This is useful if Internet bandwidth is limited or if firewall rules limit streaming video.  The Local Video Disk is also useful for training sessions using a laptop with or without Internet Access.  See Authoring Privileges as a complimentary service.

Cost for one Local Access Option (one external hard drive) is $395.  For each disk, the client is licensed to use the video disk as an external hard drive on a network server or a user PC, and licensed to make one copy to be placed on a network server.
